Visiting the 3 most emblematic parks of the region taking for each 1 full day, the Talampaya National Park in La Rioja Province, the Ischigualasto Provincial Park (Moon Valley) in San Juan Province and the Sierra de las Quijadas National Park in San Luis Province, in a journey that takes us back to the Mesozoic Era in the geological history of our planet, covering the Triassic period strata that were inhabited by Dinosaurs since its origin more than 250 million years ago until their disappearance late Jurassic period 60 million years ago.

Program: Beginning in La Rioja and ending in San Juan or vice versa.

Day 1: Reception, transfer and accommodation Hotel in La Rioja with breakfast. Rest of the day at leisure.


Day 2: Excursion to Talampaya, Depart from La Rioja to Talampaya National Park, a World Heritage Site for being the only place on Earth where on surface are exposed sedimentary layers of the entire Triassic Period. We enter the circuit in park vehicles on groups “Talampaya Canyon” 2.5 hours, entering the dry riverbed of Tala, between straight and imposing cliffs 150 m high, the Grand Canyon, with 4 stops, watching petroglyphs, palpable evidence of the passing of former inhabitants of the region, representative vegetation, fauna and varied geo carved by erosion over millions of years, such as the Wizard king, the Gothic cathedral, the tower and the Monk forms, among others. In the afternoon transfer to Hotel Villa Union.


Day 3: Excursion to Ischigualasto, Departing from Villa Union to Ischigualasto Provincial Park (Valle de la Luna, Province of San Juan), which together with Talampaya National Park (La Rioja) were declared by the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site by its landscape, scientific, archaeological, paleontological and geological value. We enter with our vehicles to a 3 hours circuit with 5 stops, observing unique geo sculpted by wind and rain forms such as the Worm, balls field, the submarine, the mushroom and the red canyons. In the afternoon transfer to Hotel by the scenic route 150 in San Juan.


Day 4: Breakfast and departure toward the Sierra de las Quijadas National Park, where we tour though paleontological and geological strata of the Jurassic period. Here we have some options: short walks of 1 or 2 hours until the viewpoints or to the dinosaur tracks or the most impressive circuit of Los Farallones  with a walk of about 4 hours, descending to the Aguada with beautiful landscapes from the high cliffs, cracks and passages that contain the secrets of the past. In the afternoon return to the hotel in San Juan.


Day 5: At the appropriate time, transfer from hotel to airport or bus terminal in San Juan.
